I created something at a whim and was wondering what others might think about my idea. I have a derby car that is cut in 3 sections like a centipede. with that in mind i am wondering if i put all the weight in back what problems might be seen with this design.?? Just something i am toying with to race in an open class Scout pwd race. I would appreciate any thoughts on this before i race several weeks from now. I do have a backup car just in case things don't really work out but i would lie to hear something from those with more experience in this.. Thanks for any future info..

:oThis sounds like a fun design, but it could make for a poor running car, here is what I think.
If I understand the design correctly, the weight in the back and the body having two joints or pivot points, the back will want to push past the front. This cannot happen do to the center rail, it will bend into the rail at the front and back creating more friction and slow the car down. Unless the joints are so tight they don't actually pivot. Then you should be OK!

Well I ended haveing 1 problem. The car has 3 sections and the middle sections wants to sag down, so i am going to put a 3rd set of axle/wheels in the center to hold it up. I am also going to put 1 tungsten rod segment in the front to keep it from wobbleing. I have a 10 foot test track and it seems like it will go pretty good from this point. I still want to try on a regular track and make sure though. When i get done painting it I will post a picture for all to see. It does flex rather well and thats part of the first problem.. a little stiffness in it may have helped the middle to stay up without help. Still 90% of the weight is in the rear and the only problem i saw on the short test run was the front wanting to wobble after a short distance from the curve. Thanks for the thoughts on it and please feel free to say more. I am hopeing to be done painting by this weekend so i can post a picture.
