I am considering switching to Nyoil on one of our cars. I know that less is better and I understand that if you can see it, you've left on too much. However, how do I know that I'm not wiping all or too much off? Thanks

I use NyeOil on all of the DFR cars. I follow MaxV's directions on his site, after spinning the wheel I wrap the axle in a clean towel and turn it one time. The wheel is wiped off and I use a clean pipe cleaner on the bore. All 4 cars performed very well this year. In the past I have found that if you see nyeoil you have too much and will be slow.

Nyoil is a very persistent oil, so it would require some effort to get off too much. Definitely lean to the conservative side, but as long as you go light on the oil in the first place and use the cloth to wipe, you should be ok. An option to try would be Krytox which is less viscous and less sensitive to over application. It is a bit more expensive, but works well. At proper application levels of each, I would not want my life to hang on the difference in performance though. Just a little more margin for error.
