Greetings everyone!
I thought I would share a few pictures of a modification I have been working on for The Toob. I have now had two sets of mailings of cars sent and received back without any damage whatsoever. I had good success with the Toob prior to this, but this seems to solve any remaining issues. I believe the pictures should show it better than I can explain, but it is a screw drilled across the base of The Toob with washers at both ends to clamp against the rear of the car body. Due to the heavy weight concentration, this is the area that will have movement during any heavy bumping in transit and this screw and washer setup seems to work very well. The issue that I am working on now is how to create one setup that fits all car types as the washer placement is different for extended or regular wheelbase as well as for cars with the third wheel on the side. The washer fits in between the car body and the wheel but I have had to drill two holes for each Toob which is fine or use one Toob for each car type which is what I am doing now.
Anyway, I know that everyone struggles with transport damage and I have had to retire several cars myself due to problems in transit, but this setup seems to work great so far. Hope it helps and if anyone has any other suggestions, please share.
