thanks to everyone for your help. We won our pack and qualified for regionals. Our fastest time we ran a 2.267 on a wood track, our slowest was 2.3000. Only a few cars made 1 or 2 runs under 2.3000. Want to know, should I remove the axels and repolish/relube or just leave well enough alone? I am afraid I on't get the same alignment on my wheels if I mess with them. I have 2 weeks before regionals.

I think a relube would be ok. No need to repolish. Tell us about your car.ie, wheels, axles, weight, com, etc.

Car was 5oz even, wheels were polished, no camber (planned anyways) axels were notched and polished, beveled head of nails COM was 1" in front of rear wheels I'll try and post a picture, looks like an Austin Healey almost. Weighted with lead at rear of car.

If you can move your weight back. Try to get the COM under 3/4 if there's room. The more the better. Cant the rear axles 2 to 2.5 degrees. Turn your FDW where it steers around 4 inches in 6 feet. But the further back you get your COM the more you need to steer. Polish and lube the inside rim of the FDW. If your Body is strait on the on the FDW side make sure you make some room for your rear wheel not to rub the rail. Sometimes just pulling that axle out a little will work. If that rear wheel is close to the rail then polish and lube the inner rim of that wheel too. Also adjust the other front wheel where there is 1.75 inches between the wheels. This will lessen any shimmy if your steering isn't enough. That's about it.

Congrats on making it to the finals ! Looking forward to seeing pictures of the car. Don't forget to share. I see you used lead to ballast the car, where did you get your lead and how did you put it in ? I just finished a car that uses 3oz sinker. I didn't hide it because I wanted to be able to move it during the race. All the way back COM is 1 1/8" . Check it out

I use lead wheel balance weights off of car rims, they give them away at most alignment places, they are a nice shape that looks like a wing.

Make the rear of the car the end where the slot is closest to the end. This way you can move your weight further back. Gravity will pull on your car for a longer period of time this way. But it's still a very slick car!
