If you have a hobby store close that has trains, it is used for engines. They should carry it. Most of the online vendors have something that would work. Folks seem to prefer Krytox 100 as it is more forgiving in its application. Similar stuff, just thinner - way simplistic answer. There is a store called Riders hobby in Taylor MI you could call to make sure they carry it. I can't find it on their website, but when their store was local, they carried it - they closed that store. www.riders.com/It would a bit of a hike, but its only about 30 minutes from Detroit - barring construction.

Hey Gumby, Give me a call on my cell at 281-814-3662 and I can work out something for you. Are you looking for both? I would go with Krytox only vs. both as it is more tolerant of overapplication and a 1/2 oz. bottle will last you a long time. Darryl www.DerbyDominator.com

If you can't get any company to send you some Krytox 100 then try this. Go buy some food grade silicone spray. Spray the end of the axle ans spin the wheel on it. Then remove all the oil off the axle. Then install the wheel on your car. If you do get some Krytox 100. I would do the same procedure. I know it's faster than just oiling the axle and wheel on the car. But if you do oil the axle on the car then blow out the excess with compressed air. All you need is a very thin film.

Hey Gumby,
The normal suggestion is to just apply a couple of drops to the axle, slide the wheel over the axle and spin several times. Remove the axle and use a soft cloth (gently) or compressed air to remove the remaining oil from the axle. the problem is that it can be difficult to get just 1-2 drops (dark garage and poor lighting). That is why I like the Krytox so much. It is pretty forgiving if you get extra oil on the axle. If you end up with more than 2 drops, just shake some off and then go about the rest of the application. I like the compressed air technique better, but excellent results either way. If you get too much on the axle, make sure you wipe off any residual oil that gets on the outer wheel hub.
Good luck!!!
