Howdy, I am trying to find some wheels like the original ones that came with mine and my Dad's car we built back in the early 60's. This car means so much to me and is probably the biggest treasure of remembrance about my Dad (recently deceased) from when I was in the Cub Scouts. (I'm 56 now, so you figure how far back this goes). I found the car still in perfect condition recently and want to mount it for show but the rear wheels and axles apparently got lost somewhere along the many years. Otherwise it is perfect. I thought I might could take off the front ones and replace them all with modern day ones but I would much rather restore it to original. Does anybody out there know where I might find a couple of the wheels from that era? If not I guess I could make a rubber cast of the front ones and pour some black epoxy to simulate the lost ones. This car is a real testament to the good old days and the fun that a guy and his Dad could have working on a project together. Every little slight toolmark on the car under the paint reminds me of him so I want to get it just like new before I mount it in a glass case.
Thanks for any consideration, Cirbuck1

Can you post a picture of the car and wheels? I know that there are old sets of wheels floating around out there- we had an "old school" race in the PWDR proxy league last year- here is a link: pwdracing.proboards.com/index.cgiYou will need to set an account up to view the posts- I'm pretty certain that you will find what you need there.
