I'm trying to get our newly purchased Best Track ready for our Awana Grand Prix. We've got the stop section with the friction strips and I'm having a little trouble. I've flipped my son's old car off the track a few times. Is the surface of the friction strip supposed to be even with the the racing surface (where the wheels roll) or a little higher so the car doesn't fall so far before contacting the friction strip. I understand the part of keeping the "stop strip" lower than the rail but I can't seem to find a happy medium. Also, I've noticed that the manufactured spacing of the raised "stop rails" isn't the same as the racing rails. If you've got them located to high in relation to the racing rails one lane or another has a jagged edge sticking out that can catch the inside of the cars wheels. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanx,
Andy

We run ours with the grip tape even with the lane guides and the stop section slightly up hill (leveling adjusters allow this easily) a foam block on the end for the faster cars is a little added insurance and keep your grip tape CLEAN!!! A little graphite build up and I think they just keep building speed!!! ;D
A second section is the perfect solution is you can add it, remember, the more body is cut away the harder they are to stop in a short distance.
