Our car was by far the fastest of the day on its first run( a run that wound up not counting)
2nd and 3rd run were over the 190mph(scale) mark the last 4 were slower and we ended up losing the pack overall trophy by .1mph.
I was under the impression that times would improve as the car got more runs in.
If it had run consistently at speeds of one of the first 3 runs we would have won easily.
There were no "bad" runs, it just settled in several 10ths slower than where it started out.
~7/8 cog on a wooden track is the only specs I can offer.
Any advice?

check to see if axles is staying put.i had a car one time first run was allways the fastest then it slowed ever run come to find out it had a axle migrating problem.the COG has nothing to do with this kind of problem.this is my 2 cents

What method for lubrication did you use? It sounds as if your car ran out of lubricant.

Graphite
MaxV graphite to be specific
Dry lubricant only is our rule
Sorry to leave out that obviously important detail

MAX V HAS SOME GOOD GRAPHITE BUT IT DOES SEEM TO BE REAL FAST ON THE FIRST FEW RUNS THEN SLOWS DOWN FOR ME ANYWAY.I LIKE HOBBY E LUBE FOR ALOT OF RUNS AND MAX V ON A 4 RUN MAX RACE.

Stacks, How did you apply the graphite? Were the wheel bores and axles treated with graphite prior to assembly? Or did you wait until the wheels were on the car to lubricate? Apparently it makes a difference.
