Wow! Great Job! I assume the kid on the right is yours? He is holding a red car that looks like the one you posted before. Also could not help but notice your name is on the sponsers list. Way to go.

Thanks guy's, It was alot of fun. The kids realy worked hard on their cars and it showed. We tried to give them as much info as we could and they soaked it up. From design all the way to final set-up, they gave alot of time to make their cars go fast. We wanted to sponsor the race to get our name out there, but also because it just feels good to help out. Scouting is all about the kids, and you're Pack or Den is what you make it. Even though our site isn't up, We felt we needed to be part of the event, and help out any way we could. We payed for the ribbons and trophy's, and assisted on set-up and tear down of the track. But the big thanks needs to go to William Barnhardt. Even though his son has crossed over to Boy Scouts, he still makes sure both the District and Council races happen. We couldn't do it with out him. We also offered to give workshops and/or advise on holding workshops, to other packs and districts next year. Our goal is to shrink the distance between first and last place. If we can do that, mission accomplished! Yes, the large kid on the right is my son Jesse. He has become quite a car builder. One thing I have learned, if you spend enough time working with the kids, they can do some amaizing things. Attention span goes with age, so the younger ones are a little more challenging, but from Bear on up, they can build some cool stuff! Here are some pictures of the top four cars. 1st place, Jesse Wiles ( Bear ) 2nd place, Troy Gregor ( Bear ) 3rd place, David Rivero ( Bear ) 4th Place, Micah Halter ( Wolf ) Again, Great job guy's. ( Future WIRL racers ) Also, congrats to every one this year, win or lose. If you're giving time to the kids, you're all winners, no matter how fast the cars are!! Good Luck and God Bless!! Warp Speed,
Have you heard anything about a National event this year for the Cubs? My son won the Golden Spread council and we've got mixed feedback/info about a national event in Dallas.
Thanks!

Didn't hear anything from our Council rep about the National race, so I guess we won't make it. But thanks to some hard work and great designing by a father and son team in NJ, we will have a set of wheels in the national race. Jesse has a ton of work into his car, I'm not so sure he would be willing to give it up, especialy since you don't get them back! I haven't heard a clear version of the rules for that race, so I'm not sure if Jesse's car would pass tech anyway( wheel base ) but I think it would run pretty good there! Good luck to all who make it!
Good Luck and Happy Racing!! Warp Speed Inc.

The way I understand it was that you had to submit a car to your council that represented your council through some type of theme. Then your council was to pick which car they felt was the best representation and send it to Texas. It had nothing to do with winning your council race. And then all cars (one from each participating council) will be raced against each other with the winner getting like a $50 savings bond or something. I believe several councils chose not to participate for one reason or another. Also I think I read somewhere that the deadline for submission was in April. If anyone knows for sure feel free to correct me. Warp, when will your wheels be available?
