Am I the only one who ever asks himself, "Why did I do that?"?
Yesterday I was messing around with "Grumpy's Toy", because I didn't like the shape, and I couldn't take the paint for another month.
The more I cut it the thinner it got. I still kept cutting. I even tried to cut it thicker. You probably guessed already that it didn't work.
I had to add some weight, and all the sudden, SNAP!!! Multiple pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put it together today, and if it holds, it should be an advertisement for GORILLA GLUE.
What's the old saying? "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." I'm going to have to remember that.

Phil I learned that last year with two of my cars. Purple Rocket never made it back and Road Hog was never the same. Now if it works I don't touch it. I haven't even relubed Road Hog II since before the first race in January and it gets faster each month.

A few days ago an idiot (me) started cutting on this car. [img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-9/1084256/WIRL0303-L[1].jpg"] After about 2 days gluing all the pieces back together, this is what I ended up with. The reworked "Grumpy's Toy". The paint is still bad, but not near as bad as it was. Now if the GORILLA GLUE will hold it together. Since that was not a total disaster, I started reworking and painting "Hustlin' Hugger". Now I understand why not having any spare time can be a good thing. Phil

PHIL, REMEMBER WHAT I SAID ABOUT "MAVERICK" IN EARLIER POSTS. THAT CAR WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE TWO HOLES IN IT. THAT HAPPENED BY ACCIDENT. I CAN RELATE TO WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH WITH "GRUMPY'S TOY". THE WAY "MAVERICK" LOOKS IS AN EVOLUTION OF MISHAPS, MISTAKES, AND THE CAR HAVING THE ATTITUDE OF I'M GOING TO WIRL - LIKE IT OR NOT!

I think we know what you were thinking now..... that we are are suckers!!!!! Woody Woody, Some of you guys are really under estimating yourselves. You turned a 3.0148 your second month, I think that's pretty darn good. 3.1183 was the time for my fastest car my second race. 3.0272 was my fastest time last year after 5 Months with 3 cars most of the time. I think I had 5 Last place finishes last year. Be proud of your accomplishments and enjoy this learning experience. There are about 4 or 5 of you guys that will be right in there in a few months. Good luck to all you new guys. Phil

Funny thing was I was faster and finished 20th verses 12th last month!
I'm just having fun with you of course, I only threw some graphite on and sent it in. I'm seriously thinking of not touching it and seeing what happens! The truth is there are a lot of good cars and this thing is growing and I am having a blast!
Now the decision to try and fix the break I did last month or keep it that way... I might redo the flames as they looked good with the wide wheels but the car looks FAT going down the track with the s. I would keep it the same with "diet" flames."
I ws surprised when I gained speed.
Thanks for the words though! Woody!
