To say the least, I was embarrassed by the looks of Ashlee's Thanks this month. Living proof that I am a contender for the worst painter ever to run a pine car. [img src="http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-9/1084256/DSCF0192[1].jpg"] To make a long story short a guy said he would send me some stencils, so I decided I would try to sand it down to bare wood and put a decent paint job on it. This is what I came up with. I am in the process of trying to get it back in one piece again, but I keep asking myself, "WHY DID YOU DO THAT". It isn't the first time this has happened. Good luck to all racers in November. Ashlee's Thanks will be there, hopefully in one piece. Phil

Been there, done that. I know this is not much consolation Phil, but I've certainly been in that situation, and I suspect most of us have at one time or another. Good luck getting her back together.

I'm getting a little closer. When I get those stencils, I should be able to finish it. Then all I will have to do is figure out how to gain about .03 seconds. Phil

Looks like everything fit back together great. I can't wait to see it finished !! Lucky 13 Thanks Bob, I had a wet slide decal made to put on it, but when I wet it, the ink came off. I printed it on with a Sharpie and cleared over it. I'm waiting on some stencils from to finish it. I hope to be able to keep it clean this time. I'm planning on waxing it when it dries. Any other tips would be appreciated. Phil

I usually put a few good coats of clear on mine, after a few weeks I apply 2 coats of wax to the bodies. This has worked really good so far. I also use a small soft paint brush to clean any graphite off that gets on the cars when I'm re-lubing them. If you try to wipe the graphite off with a towel it usually "digs" into the paint and makes a mess.
