On February 26th, my daughter was able to participate in the Regionals of the Awana Grand Prix for Speed. The Commander started the event with a devotional and a sad story about a child in his club. He held in his hand a race car and described the child that built it. The child had built, race, won and qualified to race in the regionals. Tragically his life was taken in a terrible car crash.. It was hard to fight back tears as he described the loving heart this boy had. As the races came to an end, my daughter fought off all comers and placed first. We were both happy, but I couldn't take my eye off of the little red car that was suppose to be racing with us. On the drive home, I asked my daughter what she thought about donating her trophy to the memory of that young boy. She didn't even hesitate when she said yes. I came home and shot an email to the commander who will look into it. It does my heart good to know that my child is willing to give so freely so that others can be edified. This is the same heart that Jesus had when he gave his life so that we may live. I also learned that life is fragile and we should cherish it without ceasing. I ask that you visit the site listed below, then go give your children a big hug, and thank the Lord for his blessings. Thanks for your ear. Patrick Emerson www.corbeilfamily.org/

Yes it is allways very tragic when a childs looses there life, but just think for a moment; if through the very sad story of the girls death and the Gospel presentation that someone accepted Christ. That is what it is all about.
BTW Emerson it was very nice of your daughter to do that. You should be very proud of her.

Thanks to all of you. We were able to get a plaque made, attached to the trophy and sent to the family. Haven't gotten any feedback, but I'm not expecting any. This is not about our glory, but the Fathers.
I'm appreciative of the Christian fellowship and it does my heart good to know there are so many of you out there. I'd love the opportunity to have a national event for WIRL where we could all converge for a three day weekend. The fellowship alone would outdo the race I'm sure.
Thanks to everyone again.
