Hi,
my name is Justin and I guess yall can figure out that I'm new around here.
What I have is a race between me and my instructor at Patrick Henry Community College, I'm in the motorsports department (www.phccmotorsports.com) if yall are interested. Last week we held "motorsports camp" for area 4th - 7th graders. They constructed and raced pinewood derby cars. While all this was going on I challenged my instructor, who has a degree in engineering, but I think i'm smarter than he is! (sarcasm), to a race and he wanted to put $20 on the race so I decided to agree. Now I think I can beat him with what I have now, but any more advice yall could give me will definatly help. Our track, we built ourselves. It's 20 feet long and 4ft high. It is a straight ramp, no curvature from angled part to flat. with the finish line being where the angle ends and the flat begins. It is constructed of rough plywood, not the smooth birch kind. Also, there is no center strip that goes between the wheels. There are strips that devide the different lanes on the outsides of the wheels. Any help??? thanks in advance!
