Everyone laughed when they saw it...untill it won it's first race by over 2 feet that is. Then their jaws were hanging wide open. I know it's probably a character flaw, but I really do enjoy watching that kind of thing take place. When somebody looks down their nose at a car (esp. out loud, and esp. anywhere near the owner), and then ends up looking at the back of it at "track time", you can only hope it gives them a little boost in the humility department. I've heard it said that competition doesn't really build character, it reveals it. At times I've thought that in addition to our races in "Scout class" and "Open Class" categories, there are an occasional entry or two that belong in their own "No Class". Congrats to Molly! (and Dad). Bubba p.s. OK, OK, tell us what's inside ;D

p.s. OK, OK, tell us what's inside ;D Mostly air. I started out with a thin base and the front and rear walls as one piece. I lowered my table saw blade and did several passes to take out material to achieve that. I did leave the axle areas built up. I built the "side walls" and "roof" by ripping thin slices off with the table saw. I used natural woodfiller to close any gaps. It has about 3-1/2 oz of tungsten steel stacked in the back. Throw on some secret recipie axles and some 1.6 g wheels and voila' you have a wolf in sheeps clothing. The Krytox adds to the effect (no graphite mess). I let Molly glue, sand, polish wheels and axles. I did the cutting (6 year olds and power tools don't mix), lubrication, and alignment.
