After using the pro wheel shaver to true a wheel or set of wheels do i need to polish the tread of the wheel with some fine sandpaper (600) or am I done with that step?

I go as fine as 2000 grit. I do not use the tool though. A few blocks with different grades of sand paper, my mic gauge and time.

If you have the New shaver with the New Blade you will not have to do anything more to the tread of the wheel if you so choose. I like to take the Plastic Polish that many of the online retailers sell and put some on a damp lint free cloth and polish the tread to help minimize the amount of track debris that the wheels tend to pick up.
