Hi... I have a question lingering in my head...lol..
Last year we made my sons car and my 2 daughter's cars as well (powder puff derby) With me drilling new axle holes eliminating the slots. When I drilled them I pushed the front of the car short and left the longer end of the block behind the rear axles..
I may have confused you on the above statement . but if you were to take a raw block from the box you will note on one end the slots are closer to the edge then on the other side of the block.
And I used the block in relation to the closest to the end being the front .. (hope I explained it better)
My question is where do you guys place the axle holes/ slots in relation to the front/ back of the block, and which is your front ? The furthest distance or shortest ??
Does it really matter as long as your balance point is correct ? Or is there really an advantage one way or another ?
On last years cars my son took first at pack and top 5 at districts. My 2 daughters at the Powder Puff Derby tied first on 9 runs then on the 10th run my younger daughter for some reason beat her by an 1/8 inch. So she ended up with first.. But all the cars had the bigest portion of the block behind the rear axle, not in front of the front axle...
