Clydesdale,
A three wheeler is just that- only three wheels touch. Two in the back one in the front. So you end up with a triangle if you connect the front & rear axle holes with an imaginary line. That's what the triangle means. The reason to ride a three instead of 4 is that you immediately knock 25% of the friction off.
As far as the tools go- all of the Derbyworx tools are great. Here's my review & order of importance.
!. Pro-body jig. will allow you to extend the wheel base and have nearly perfectly square holes for superior alignment.
2. Wheel Shaver- the BSA wheels are out of round and need major repair. The wheel shaver is a hand turned lathe.
3. Mandrel- you won't be able to sand your wheels & polish them down further if you cant turn them.
4. Axle Press & Rail Rider Tool- will allow you to cant the axles by bending to a perfectly consistent 1.5 or 2.5 degrees. Use negative camber on your rears and positive on the front.
If you get these along with the proper method of weighting & table top tuning you will be on the "right track" ;D
Good luck with you build and welcome to the Message Board.
