Just found out that my son's district race (which is tomorrow) is run on a SuperTrack with no center guide rail! Problem his, the car he's using is the one he won his pack with and it is a three on the floor rail rider with wheels glued in place. What do we do? Is this a definite losing situation without the center rail?

I am going with yes, it's a losing situation....
I would do whatever it takes to adjust the car to run straight as possible. If you bent your axle, loosen the glue (soldering iron for epoxy) and adjust your steering.

With some coaxing, I removed the FDW. The raised wheel had already come off (pack race was a while back). Should I use the 1.5 deg bent axle still on the FDW, or use the straight axle on that wheel and put the bent one on the raised wheel? We're going to try to align to run straight.

I would use the bent axle, install it so the bend is up (head of axle up) and then tweak in small amounts until the car runs straight.

So bent axle on the FDW, and keep the raised wheel on the straight axle? Sorry - just clarifying.

yes... bent=FDW... straight=raised wheel
I am assuming that you used the bent axle on the FDW to adjust the car for Rail rider.... do the same thing only adjust for straight.
