If our rules dictate using the stock BSA axle slot and not bending the axles, how can you build a rail rider? Is this even possible within these rules limitations?

Coburja,
If you have to use the slots and no bending of the axles is allowed, then you will not be able to do a complete rail rider implementation. However, you can do parts of it. Place all 4 wheels and axles (straightened) on the car, add some weight to the car in back and let it roll 3-4 ft. on a smooth table. That will tell you your natural drift with the car. You can then select the dominant side; if left to right drift, then left front, if right to left drift, then right front for dominant wheel. You can do the 1/16" cut in at that stage on that front side of the block if you want to go with the natural drift of the car. If the car is going really straight, then you may want to do the cut in on both front sides of the car body. Either way, you want to use the natural drift of the car and the cut ins to keep the back wheels off the center guide rail. With the slots, you can still manipulate the axles to a point that the wheel will move towards the axle head while still looking flat on the track.

I agree with derby dominator one other thing is when you decide which wheel is your dominate wheel you can off set your weight to one side to make the car pull to that side more I have built a rr like that before with out bending an axle hope that helps
