Has anyone did research on the use of Lightning Axels sold by Derby Champ what kind of gain can I expect to see from them Vs. stock BSA axels crimp marks removed heads tapered and polished (Maximum Velocity Speed Axels) I would like to hear some opinons I need to gain about 0.247 :' Thanks ( Board Newby) OOPS I MESSED UP BIG TIME TIME We don't need to GAIN 0.247 that was the difference of a TOTAL of 4 runs between our 3 place district finish and the first place CAR so the true number would be the Avg.of 0.247 / 4 so the true number would be 0.06175 Seconds Avg. Thats a little more like it huh!!! heres how it heats broke down My Son's Car 3.998 3.816 3.912 3.903 2nd place Car 3.973 3.882 3.866 3.870 We were only 0.0095 Avg.of 4 runs behind the 2nd place car.!!!!! 1st place Car 3.817 3.850 3.809 3.906 and 0.06175 behind the first place Car! Thanks to all who replied!!!!! Sounds like the Derby Champ Axels might just be the ticket

We bought a set of the Derby Champ axles to test. They were very straight and round. As far as being faster than others, it's all in final prep and finish. We have had a set of properly prepped BSA axles go faster. As far as faster, I'm talking .015 to .020 seconds, Which is a bunch!! But if you need to pick-up over .2, you have alot of work to do!!!
Good luck and Happy racing!!

If your rules allow the 5095 Speed Axles by Maximum Velocity are hard to beat for the money. They are the right shape, straight and after a little touch-up sanding and a good polishing they are good to go. Panzer

I need to gain about 0.247 Seconds Thanks ( Board Newby) Unless your car is really bad about the only way to gain .247 seconds is to install a rocket engine ;D I do agree that Max V axles are about the best you can get that require very little work. Good Luck!
