I have been working feverishly on my next possible WIRL entry this past week.
I laid down a base coat of Shimmering Silver, found some awesome tribal flame masks, shot them in black, followed by a tangerine transparent top coat. It was looking better than most I have done (nowhere near Derby Master or Jewkes quality!). I went for the clear coat, and it frosted over like crazy! I left it cure for a while, but still frosted!
Looks like it back to the sanding table and start over. I will be using a different clear coat this time (and will test it on a scrap block first!!!)

It may not be the clear coat .It may be the humidity.I just started using a new clear coat(KRYLON Triple-Thick Clear Glaze) and it states to be sure there is no humidity or it will clowed up .It also states you can reapply in 30 minuets to restore gloss.I put my car on top of my gas stove where the pilot light is and let it dry.

Good point Speedbuggy! I set my car in the basement over night and checked it this morning. Most of the cloudiness has gone away. It has been pretty humid around here lately.
Thanks for the tip!

mike,
I can't wait to see your results! I have always thought about using the HOK rattle cans or paint but never have had the nerve to use cause of the clear coating system they recommend. Which/who's clear coat did you use? I usually have to spray outdoors and them immediately move the car indoors to dry. You have to be careful when walking that's for sure. Which flame mask did you use? J

...Which/who's clear coat did you use? I used H.O.K.'s 3 step system (sold separately of course). It consists of base, top, and clear coats. I usually have to spray outdoors and then immediately move the car indoors to dry. You have to be careful when walking that's for sure. As Speedbuggy pointed out to me, because of the humidity here in Northern Indiana lately, I will have to start doing the same thing. Which flame mask did you use? J I used a tribal flame mask from KB Kustoms ( www.kbkustoms.com/index.html) They are awesome! I hope the flames make it go faster! ;D
