Hello all, Just getting started here...
Can anyone tell me where I can buy needle axles? I don't need the wheels, I just need the axles. Every place I have seen sells them in a set, so maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Go to any craft store (or Wal Mart); get the smallest diameter straight pins you can find (probably between .027" and .034" diameter). Good luck!

Hi,
We have replacement axles, but I don't have them on the web site. Just give me a call at 623-587-9261.

Hi Randy, Can you tell me what your needle axles are made of? Are they plated?
Thanks!

We offer replacement sets from DerbyWorx. I believe the needles are plated - looks like a nickel coating as it is shiny like chrome.

It seems like most people are doing ok with the needle axles because they are experienced builders with a little more equipment than the norm, BUT if enough people e-mail me with interest in a Pro Body Tool for needle axles I will do a special run, might even polish them to be different.
Let us know!!!

Maybe we'll start something up at Lima. I'll tell a friend and they'll tell a friend and so on and so on. (I'm show'n my age with that commercial)
X, Some of us are drilling with a guide on the drill press, some are using an end mill to start the hole, but the drill fixture is still the better way to go.
We'll try and drum up some business. We'll see what happens. Thanks

Derbydoc.com will soon have material for making your own needle axles. We should have 2 different sizes. .034 and .036. You can cut it to any length you want. Should be priced around $4 or $5 for (2) 6" long pieces. Works great for running axles that stay in the body and use tips to hold the wheels on. If anyone needs some before I can get it on the website, just send me a PM.
