"It was all worth it when I saw the look on my boy's face after his Physics teacher BAROMETER car beat that little crippled kid's plain jane physics teacher's car by a blazing .0002 seconds. It was worth the extra $200 to show the pack who the greatest bidder...err I mean builder is."

The take home lesson here is that the market that will pay $375 for an unproven car.
If the sport were not popular, the market would not bear that price. That speak volumes about the state of the art (sport?).
Yes, the Physics Teacher rides the edge... the price is outrageous... it's humorous... is he unscrupulous??? But the good news is the sport is getting a lot of attention; some of it perverse, but time will take care of that.
I love the free market!!!

Hey I have been doing some math here...
If the physics teachers car sold for $375.00 and took 10th place, out of 13 stock cars. that means that I could sell wildfire for the bargain price of $1218.75 for taking 4th place in December race.... ;D ;D ;D
and better yet Warpspeed could sell Hammer head for the bargain price $4875.00 for placing 1st... ;D ;D ;D
:Dha :Dha :Dha

That's "only" $396 per second.
I'm in the wrong business...

hmmm. Does a rocket scientist trump a physics teacher? I think I'm in the wrong business. I'm going to make up a load of !@#$ and start selling cars on ebay. I've got 5 years of watching my husband and son build derby cars. That should be worth something! lol I'm not sure but I think we raced one of his cars in our Pack race last year. It didn't win.

He says all of his cars are the "FASTEST" on eBay! Did eBay have a Derby Race between all of the listed cars that I didn't know about? ? I don't think he is a Physics Teacher!!!
